William James (W.J.) Thompson grew up in the South, moving between Georgia and Florida with his two brothers. He spent most of his childhood outdoors, where he could often be found exploring the woods, swimming in canals, or soaking up every moment at the beach. Those early days in the sun shaped who he is and left him with plenty of stories to tell.
After earning a history degree from the University of Central Florida, W.J. made the big move to Massachusetts. Trading palm trees and warm breezes for snowy winters and rocky coasts wasn’t exactly his dream, but somehow he’s managed to stick it out, even if he still grumbles about the lack of bright sunshine.
For most of his life, W.J. dreamed of becoming a writer, but procrastination and self-doubt often got in the way. Eventually, he resolved to finally see a story through to the end, and now he’s making that dream happen.
When he’s not writing, W.J. stays busy with a mix of hobbies. He loves getting lost on hiking trails, playing soccer with his sons, throwing paint at a canvas just to see what sticks, and spending far too much time daydreaming. But out of everything, his proudest achievement is being a dad to his two sons, a role he wouldn’t trade for anything.
