William James (W.J.) Thompson grew up in the South, moving between Georgia and Florida with his two brothers. He spent most of his childhood outdoors, often exploring the woods, swimming in canals, or soaking up every moment at the beach. The great memories he made with the wide circle of unique characters he was fortunate to call his friends inspire many of the stories he tells today.

After graduating from the University of Central Florida, W.J. made the drastic move to fatherhood and Massachusetts at the same time. Trading palm trees and late nights drinking with friends at the beach for snowy winters and cold Saturday mornings watching youth soccer is only fair when you factor in how great his two sons are. The only problem is how quickly life moves now...

For most of his life, W.J. dreamed of becoming a writer, but procrastination and self-doubt often got in the way. Once, he resolved to see a story through to the end, though he hasn't been able to stop. W.J. is currently (as of late 2026) finishing his next novel, The Path We Choose.

When he’s not writing, W.J. stays busy with a mix of hobbies. He loves getting lost on hiking trails, playing soccer with his sons, throwing paint at a canvas to see what sticks, and daydreaming far too much. But above all, his proudest achievement is being a dad to his two sons, a role he wouldn’t trade for anything.
